May 18- May 22

I learned that scientists call a phase, where half of the moon we can see is lit, a quarter moon not half moon. Like shown to the right. We reviewed notes in class and I learned that some moon phases are..
1) quarter moon
2) new moon
3) full moon
4) gibbous
5) crescent
I also learned about waning and waxing.

Waning- the moon gradually gets darker

Waxing- the moon gradually gets lit

Mr finley assigned us homework and i learned about spring tides and neap tides. Spring tides occur when there is a full or new moon. Neap tides occur when there are quarter moons. I also learned from my homework about summer solstice's (longest day) and winter solstice's (shortest day) and spring equinox's and autumn equinox's.

On Wednesday we started to do an experiment with our group, my experiment was the surface of the moon. We have some surfaces like sand, flour, gravel, and dry dirt.

On Thursday most of the students were not there so i played games.

On Friday I took a quiz and blogged. I thought the quiz was hard because some stuff and it i didn't really learn.
